Privateers to Honour Those Who Serve on Remembrance Day

The Liverpool Privateers will pay tribute to current and past members of the Canadian Armed Forces this Remembrance Day when the puck drops at 2 pm for their NSJHL contest versus the Antigonish Bulldogs.

General Manager Jim Bottomley said the following "With an afternoon game on this important Day where we remember and honour those who  Gave All, we thought it only right to extend an invitation to acting and retired Service Members and their spouses to come enjoy our game. The freedoms we enjoy did not come at a small cost and this is a small way for us to say thank you."

The Privateers are coming off a weekend of great hockey that consisted of a home and home pair of games versus Port Hawksebury.  The Privateers lost the game on the road 4-3 in overtime before winning 4-2 at home in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Fan favourite Matt Ormon led the way with a pair of goals in the third to help secure the win, the Privateers first at home this season.

To further celebrate the club's first home matinee in franchise history, the team is extending free admission to our local volunteer firefighters and auxilaries along with their spouses and children.  Team President Bruce Inglis says "Our team has always been about community.  Inviting those who give so much for our protection is something we have done before and we are happy to have another opportunity to do so again"

The puck drop for this special game will be at 2 pm.
