Colts special teams playing exceptional
Game five in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Championship Series for the Veteran’s Cup goes tonight in Antigonish at 7:30 with the Bulldogs and Colts deadlocked at two games in the Best-of-Seven series.
Antigonish won the opening two games before the Colts came back with a pair of wins last weekend.
The key thing for tonight’s game for the Bulldogs after losing the past two games is how they are planning to handle a formative Colts special teams unit. In this series, the Bulldogs have managed a single power-play goal, a far cry from what the Colts have produced as they have not only scored three power-play goals but have also come up with an amazing three short-handed goals in the four games.
The Bulldogs seeking their fourth consecutive Nova Scotia Junior Championship will not be able to win it by allowing the Colts to score almost at will on their special teams.
Granted in the four games, the teams are tied in goals for and against at 11 apiece but that can only last so long with the Colts special teams playing so well.
Game 5 goes in Antigonish tonight at 7:30 before shifting back to C.F.B. Shearwater for a 7:30 start Saturday night.
