Antigonish up 1-0

Less than 48 hours after winning the Fred Fox Divisional Final, the Capstone Colts found themselves on the road for the opening game of the 2024-25 Nova Scotia Provincial Junior Championship series with the Antigonish Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs who defeated the Colts two years ago in the provincial championship and are seeking their fourth consecutive provincial junior championship, scored three times in the second period to double up the Colts 4-2 and take a 1-0 Best-of-Seven Series Lead.  Will Normandeau, Zachary Lorette and Owen Forsythe scored the Bulldog goals in the second.  For the game, Lorette and Forsythe both added a pair of assists while Normandeau added a single assist.

In the opening period, the Bulldogs Owen Juurlink and the Colts Brady Wamboldt tallied to tie the score at 1-1 after twenty minutes.  The only goal of the third was from the Colts Cooper Puma on the power-play to pull the Colts to within a pair but it was as far as they could go, dropping the game 4-2.  The Bulldogs outshot the Colts 29-22.

Game 2 now swings back to C.F.B. Shearwater Forum Saturday evening at 7:30 for Game 2.
