Bulldogs looking for sweep

Bulldogs continue to cruise

The Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs recorded their second shut-out in three games in the Sid Rowe Divisional Final Sunday evening at home blanking the County Scotians 6-0 and taking a 3-0 series lead in the Best-of-Seven Affair.  Game 4 and potentially the series clincher goes Monday night in Trenton at 7:00 p.m.

Bulldogs Goalie Adam Tkacz recorded his second consecutive shut-out stopping all 23 shots he faced.  He has now stopped 69 of 71 in the series to date.  The shut-out was his second in the playoffs this season and his fifth if you count the regular season.  Going back over the past two seasons, the shut-out was his 11th.  The number one goaltender in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League for 24-25 Eli James of the Scotians had a rough evening ass he allowed six goals on 27 shots and was pulled five minutes into the third period for Brandon Connors.

As for scoring, the Bulldogs scored a pair of goals in each period Sunday.  Tully Grant and Will Normandeau tallied in the first, Cameron Bell and Owen Flemming in the second and Owen Juurlink and Venel Campbell 22 seconds apart in the third to provide the Bulldogs with all the offence required.  Will McKinnon recorded three assists for the winners.  The Bulldogs have outscored Pictou 15-2 to date in the series and the Scotians will need a huge game tonight before a home crowd to extend the series to Game 5 in Antigonish Friday night.
