Series will now go at least six
The Fox Division Final will now go at least six games as the Capstone Colts crawled back into the series over the weekend and tied the series at 2-2 with a one-goal win Saturday night in Bridgewater.
The Lumberjacks were hopeful after leading the series 2-0 of winning their third and led the Colts 3-2 going into the third period Saturday night. However, Liam Andrews with his 11th goal in 10 playoff games and Camden McKenzie with his first to go along with a pair of assists scored in the third and held the Lumberjacks scoreless to win 4-3 and force at last two more games in this series.
Braden Cheney for the Colts and Liam Sylvester for the Lumberjacks traded goals 1:43 apart in the opening period to knot the score at 1-1 after twenty minutes. In the second, Aaron Lane put the South Shore in front 2-1 before Cooper Puma's power-play goal tied the game again at 2-2. Then with only 35 seconds to play, Joe Osborne put the home team in front 3-2 and sent them to the dressing room feeling confidengt about the third.
The Lumberjacks allowed the one power-play goal by Puma but it did not occur when they played two men short for 58 seconds in the second period. Daniel Kline assisted on all three goals for the Lumberjacks. The Colts outshot the South Shore 34-19. Game 5 in this series will be played Friday, March 28 at C.F.B. Shearwater at 7:30 and Game 6 in Bridgewater Saturday March 29th at 7:00 p.m.
