Colts solve Lumberjack woes

After an absolutely thrilling Game 2, followers of the Fox Division Final knew it was going to take an incredible amount to make Game 3 even better.

 
After the Lumberjacks 3-2 Double Over-time Win in Game 2 to take a 2-0 series lead, Game 3 simply saw the Colts crawl back into the series at C.F.B. Shearwater Friday evening with a 5-1 thumping of the South Shore and a chance to travel to Bridgewater Saturday night to tie the series at 2-2.
 
The Colts scored a pair of goals 1:17 apart late in the first period Friday night to take a 2-0, a lead they never relinquished in defeating the Lumberjacks 5-1.  Daniel Kline’s goal for the South Shore with 23 seconds let in the opening frame proved to be the only offence produced by the Lumberjacks.  The Colts two goals were scored by Camden McKenzie and Jacob Troini-Willis.
 
With 1:00 minute to play in the second, McKenzie’s power-play marker, his second of the evening put the Colts up 3-1.  In the third, Jacob Troini-Willis continued his impressive play in the series for the Colts scoring twice, the second coming on the power-play to give the Colts a 5-1 lead and that was the way the game ended.  Willis also added an assist to give him a four-point night.  Owen O’Donnell assisted on three of the five Colt goals.  The Colts outshot the South Shore 33-32 as Conar Brace turned away 31 of 32 shots.  Keegan Greencorn who has played spectacular for the Lumberjacks in the 24-25 playoffs had his first off night and actually left the game with slightly less than 6 minutes remaining and was replaced by Zach McInnis in the Lumberjack pipes.
 
Game 4 tonight in Bridgewater at 7:00 p.m. with the Colts now having a chance to tie the series before going home for Game 5 Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.
