Scotians fall behind 2-0
The Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs are only two wins away from moving on to the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Championship Series after blanking the Pictou County Scotians 3-0 in Trenton Sunday evening. The win gives the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in their Best-of-Seven Sid Rowe Divisional Final.
Adam Tkacz turned away all 29 shots fired at him by the Scotians to earn the shut-out. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from Cameron Bell and Will McKinnon, with McKinnon’s being a short-handed effort.
The game featured no more scoring until there was less than five minutes to play when Will Normandeau scored on the power-play for Antigonish to secure the 3-0 win.
Eli James turned away 28 of 31 shots in the Scotians net.
Game 3 in this series goes Sunday, March 23 in Antigonish with Game 4 back in Trenton Monday March 24 at 7:00 p.m.
