Scotians-Bulldogs in Rowe Final
The Membertou Jr. Miners will now begin looking toward next season after being eliminated from Nova Scotia Junior Hockey Playoff Action Sunday night in Trenton. The Jr. Miners were defeated by the Pictou County Scotians 3-2. Lane Lochead led the way for the Scotians as he does eight out of every ten games by scoring once and adding two assists. Matt Carson and Cale MacLaughlin each scored while they also each added an assist.
Ty Oliver who also had a two point night for the Jr. Miners scored once and also assisted on Hudson Clarke’s short-handed effort with less than a minute to play in the second period.
Goaltending was strong on both fronts as Eli James turned away 30 of 32 shots in the Scotian nets while Lucas Fraser blocked 36 of the 39 shots he encountered. Pictou won the Best-of-Seven Divisional Semi-Final 4-1 and will now face the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs in the Rowe Divisional Final expected to begin later this week.
