Mother Nature plays havoc

With snow and ice pellets expected across much of Nova Scotia this evening after between 5-10 cm of snow, Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Executives have decided to postpone three games on today’s schedule and move two ahead to the Holiday Monday and another one to Tuesday evening.

The Capstone Colts and Valley Maple Leafs were scheduled to conclude their regular season tonight at the John Paris Jr. Rink in Windsor but with dangerous travelling conditions and wind gusts that could exceed 80 km/h, the game has now been moved to 3:30 Monday afternoon at the Newport Rink.

With similar weather conditions impacting Pictou County, the Scotians game with the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates will now be played at 11:15 a.m. Monday morning in Trenton.

The Membertou-Antigonish game scheduled for Sunday night in Antigonish has been moved ahead 48 hours to Tuesday night at 7:30 in Antigonish, meaning this will be the final game of the League’s 165 game regular season.

Two other games are scheduled for the Heritage Holiday on Monday as Brookfield travels to the South Shore for a 2:00 p.m. start while East Hants plays in Sackville at 7:30 p.m.
