It was a week that featured only 6 league games compared to the 10 scheduled for this weekend to conclude the 2024-25 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Regular Season.  However even with only 6 scheduled games, Egg Farmers Players of the week were still named. 

 

Sid Rowe Division:

 

1.  Lane Lochead — There is simply no stop in this player as he has been named Player of the Week in the Rowe Division once again. Lochead who leads the League in scoring with 18 goals and 35 assists fo 53 points earned five of those points in the Scotians only game of the week, a 6-2 tripling of the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs.  Lochead scored three times and added a pair of assists.  The pair of assists gives him a one assists lead over Nick Veinot of the East Hants Penguins who has recorded 34.  Lochead once again wins 2 dozen eggs from the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia for his consistent scoring exploits. 

2.  Matt Carson — is the second star of the week after scoring twice and adding three assists in the Scotians 6-2 win.  Carson is now 10 points behind Lochead in the race for the League Scoring Lead as he moved into a tie with Cooper Puma of the Capstone Colts.  Each have 43 points but Carson is second because he has scored 18 goals to Puma’s 12. 

 

3.  The third star of the week honours go to Membertou Jr. Miners net minder Lucas Fraser.  The Jr. Miners still trying to clinch third place in the Rowe Division were outshot 35-33 by the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles despite winning 6-2.  Fraser stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced. 

 

Fred Fox Division:

 

1.  Cooper Puma - The Capstone Colts literally outscored the Valley Maple Leafs all by himself as he recorded three goals and aded 6 assists in the Colts 16-5 humbling of the Leafs in Shearwater.  Puma now has 12 goals and 31 assists for 43 points on the season.  Puma wins 2 dozen eggs from the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia.

 

2.  Luke McPhee and Liam Andrews — both recorded three goals and 2 assists in the Colts lashing of the Leafs as they tied for 2nd star of the week in the Fox Division.  Andrews three goals puts him only one back of  League Leader Devin Meagher who has 22 goals with the East Hants Penguins.  Andrews is tied with team-mate Finn Merrit who also has 21 goals. 

 

3.  Owen MacDermid -  the Maple Leaf player was named third star of the week for his 3 assist effort in the Leafs win over Brookfield.  The three assists now give him 22 on the season.
