NS Egg Farmers Players of Week
While the players were chosen over a week ago, the announcement was not made on the NSJHL Website due to an oversite. This writer is referencing Nova Scotia Egg Farmers Players of the Week for the period covering Jan 31st-Feb 4th. The following are the players named as the League continues to play leasing up to the end of the regular season on Monday Feb 17th.
Sid Rowe Division:
1. Ryan Frizzle - the Pictou County Scotians player was responsible for a 1/3 of his team’s goals as he scored three in the Scotians 9-1 thumping of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles Sunday Feb 2 in Trenton. Frizzle takes home 2 dozen eggs courtesy of the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia for being named Rowe Division Player of the Week.
2. Matt Carson and Lane Lochead — We haven’t see many this year but there was a tie for 2nd star of the week in the Rowe Division. The tie was between Scotian players Carson and Lochead. Carson scored twice and added a pair of assists and Lochead scored once and added three assists in the 9-1 thumping of the Jr. Eagles.
3. The third star of the week honours go to Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates player Cadyn Power who recorded a goal and 2 assists in the Strait’s 3-0 win over Eskasoni.
Fred Fox Division:
1. Daniel Kline - The South Shore Lumberjacks sophomore recorded 4 points over two games as the Lumberjacks defeated Brookfield 6-2 while losing 5-4 to Sackville in a shoot-out. Kline also wins 2 dozen eggs from the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia.
2. Nick Veinot — He is neck and neck in the lead for most assists in the league this season and he only continued to produce helper as he recorded 4 assists while also scoring a goal in the Penguins 10-1 win over the Valley Maple Leafs.
3. Aaron Lane of the Lumberjacks finished third in player of the week nominations, recording three assists in the two South Shore games.
