Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia - Jan 24-27 Players of the Week

Some tremendous goaltending efforts in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and also games that were decided in overtime or shoot-outs made the selection of Egg Farmers Players of the Week between Jan 24 and 30 a little more difficult to select.  However the envelopes are in and the following are players selected. 

 
Fred Fox Division: 
 
1.  Jacob Trioni-Willis - is the Fred Fox Division Player of the Week after his huge performance in the Colts 5-3 win over Sackville Friday, Jan 24 when he scored twice and added a pair of assists to carry the bulk of the scoring for the Colts.
 
2.   There was a tie for 2nd star of the week involving two Valley Maple Leafs who are still refusing to give up on their playoff hopes.  Braedy MacKenzie and Graydon Mole ended in a tie for 2nd star and each three points toward Player of the Month Honours after scored once and added an assist and then scored the overtime winner as the Leafs nosed by Sackville 3-2 Jan 27. Mole meanwhile turned away 46 of 48 shots in the same game.
 
3.   The third star of the week in the Fred Fox Division was Conar Blackwood of the Sackville Blazers who stopped 85 of 93 shots in two Blazers losses including the one in overtime to the Leafs.  Blackwood earned one point toward player of the month.
 
 
Sid Rowe Division:
 
1.  Brody MacPherson was named player of the Week in the Sid Rowe Division as he carried the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs to a pair of wins over Pictou and Membertou collecting three goals and an assist while also scoring the shoot-out winner in a 7-6 win over Membertou.  MacPherspn takes home two dozen eggs from the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia for his efforts.
 
2.  Eli James - turned in an exceptional effort as he turned away all 30 shots he faced in the Scotians 2-0 blanking of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles in Eskasoni, Saturday, Jan 25/25.
 
3.  Another goaltender earned the third star of the week as despite a 4-3 loss to Eskasoni, Lucas Fraser of the Membertou Jr. Miners turned away 52 of 56 shots.
