East Hants Field earns player of month honours
Alex Field of the East Hants Penguins is presently in a 3-way tie for third place in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League scoring race with 16 points and only two points back of league leader Owen Forsythe of the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs who currently has 18. Field began the season with two goals and three assists in his first six games but has now earned Nova Scotia Egg Farmers player of the month with a dominating performance in October registering eight goals and three assists for 11 points in five games. In four weeks in October, Field was named player of the week while during another week, he earned third star of the week for the 11-0-0 Penguins who return to action Friday night at home against the South Shore Lumberjacks in a 7:30 start in Lantz. For his efforts, Field will take home five dozen eggs courtesy of the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia.
Two other games Friday have the Sackville Blazers visiting the Valley Maple Leafs at 7:30 in Windsor and the Brookfield Colts travelling too C.F.B. Shearwater for a 7:30 game against the Capstone Colts.
