Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia Players of the week announced
The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League today announced the Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia Players of the week covering nine games between Sept 27-29.
In the Fox Division:
1. Zachary Jenkins played steady defence for the Sackville Blazers while collecting five assists in two games. Both games were Blazer wins on the road 5-3 over the Capstone Colts Friday Sept 28 and 5-1 over the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles in Eskasoni Sunday afternoon. Four of his five assists were recorded in Sunday afternoon’s game in Eskasoni. = 5 points
2. John Shubaly garnered four points and logged plenty of ice time as he led the Lumberjacks in a 5-1 win over the Valley Maple Leafs Friday night in Windsor 5-1. He collected two goals and an assist and played an outstanding game. The Lumberjacks were back home Saturday night, losing this time however to the East Hants Penguins 6-2. Shubaly assisted on one of the two Lumberjack goals in a losing cause.
3. Logan Mitchell of the Sackville Blazers was chosen third star of the week after his 2 goal and 3 assist performances combined in the two Blazer wins.
In the Rowe Division:
1. Zachary Lorette of the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs is the player of the week after collecting 6 points in two wins over Port Hawkesbury and Brookfield. He scored four times while collecting a pair of assists.
2. The second star of the week is Tully Blanchard of the Jr. Bulldogs as he recorded 2 goals and 3 assists in the two wins.
3. The third star of the week is Andrew Burke of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles. He stopped 59 of 64 shots in a 5-1 loss Sunday afternoon against the Sackville Blazers.
