Who will lead NSJHL in points for season???
If by chance you are asking who will win the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Scoring race for the 23-24 season, well take a pick as the League heads into their final week of the 2023-2024 regular season. Nine points separate the top 15 scorers. The South Shore Lumberjacks presently have five of the 15 players in contention while the East Hants Penguins have four, the Capstone Colts two, the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs two and the Pictou County Scotians two. The leading point getter going into weekend action is Nate Supryka of the Scotians who has recorded 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points. In second place alone is Logan Durno of the East Hants Penguins who has 13 goals and is tied for second in assists with 22. Four of the next five players are all members of the South Shore Lumberjacks as Daniel Kline has 34, Brennan Coleman and Cohen Westlake both with 33. They are followed by Will Fitzsimmons of the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs and Alec Howie of the Lumberjacks with 32. Aaron Lane of the Lumberjacks leads the league in assists with 23 to go along with 7 goals for 30 points. It is almost a dead heat for the leader in goals as Devin Meagher of East Hants and Liam Andrews of the Colts who both have 21. Meagher has a total of 30 points and Andrews 28. Matt Carson of the Scotians is only one goal behind Meagher and Andrews with 20 to go along with 11 assists for 31 points.
There you have it, if you want to take a pick and choose a league points leader for 23-24 or goals and assists for 23-24, go ahead but as you can see it will be a race to the wire.
As for goaltending, the goalie with the most wins is Keegan Greencorn of the Lumberjacks with 14 against 6 losses while Conar Brace of the Colts and Adam Tkacz of the Jr. Bulldogs both have 13 wins. Tkacz leads in shut-outs with three while Brace has recorded two of the Colts four shut-out victories this season. Brace is number one with a Goals Against Average of 2.48 while Tkacz’s GAA is 2.66 and Greencorn’s is 2.79.
