Game 6 swings back to Queens County

The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Semi-Final between the East Hants Penguins and Liverpool Privateers resumes in Liverpool at 7:00 p.m. tonight at the Queens Place Emera Centre.  It is a series that has become virtually impossible to figure out.  Neither team has won on home ice yet, something the Privateers would love to do tonight to close out their series and get prepared for the Capstone Colts.  Liverpool has outscored the Penguins 23-20 in the five games to date.  As result of this scoring, the teams have been evenly matched until the third period.  the Penguins have scored seven goals in the first periods of the five games while Liverpool has scored six.  Each team has scored seven goals apiece in the second period giving the Pens a goal advantage of 14-13 over 40 minutes in their respective games.  However just like in East Hants Sunday, the Privateers still seem to be holding everything to the bitter end as they have outscored the Penguins 10-7 in the third period.  East Hants has outshot Liverpool 219-202 in the opening five games.  As for offence, Carson Gallant, Malcom Bussey, Cole Elliott, Alec Howie and Dylan Patterson are all averaging more than a point a game.  Gallant leads the way with 6 goals and 4 assists in the five games and Bussey has 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points.  Elliott has connected for 7 points while Howie and Patterson both have six points, Patterson’s being all assists.  As for the Penguins, Devin Meagher is the top point getter for his team with 4 goals and 3 assists while Morgan Lake has 1 goal and 5 assists for six points.  Blake Irvin, Bruen Fisher, Logan Colter and Marshall Plandowski have all recorded 5 points.  As for special teams, the man advantage has been relatively even with East Hants Registering 4 over-play goals but no short-handed goals.  Liverpool meanwhile has scored three power-play goals but have also connected for two short-handed goals.   If a 7th game is required, it will be played Wednesday evening at the Keith Miller Arena at the East Hants Sportsplex starting at 7:30 p.m.
