Blazers erupt for 3 goals in final 5 min

The Sackville Blazers won their third game in their past ten in Sackville Monday night sidelining the 2nd place East Hants Penguins 5-2.  The Blazers climbed over Liverpool into third place with 24 points as they try to stay in the playoff race in the Fox Division.  Liverpool with 22 and Brookfield with 20 are the two teams hot on their heels and both hold five games in hand on the Blazers.  For the Penguins, it was only their loss in regulation time this season to go along with 14 wins and 2 ot/so losses for 30 points and still three points back of the 1st place Capstone Colts.

The Blazers led 2-1 Monday night until Bruen Fisher tied it for the Penguins at 2 mid-way though the third period.  However the Blazers who have struggled more times than they have desired this winter, were not to be outdone as Duggan Gauthier, Jaden Hardie with his 2nd power-play of the night and Zachary Jenkins scored in the final 5:22 of action for the 5-2 Blazers win.  Justin Hardie was the other Blazers scorer while Marshall Plandowski scored the other Pens goal.  The teams were deadlocked at 1-1 after twenty minutes and Sackville led 2-1 after two periods.  Sackville outshot East Hants 53-48.  The Pens and Blazers have one game remaining in their 6 regular season game schedule which at the present time shows East Hants with a 3-2-0 record and Sackville with a 2-2-1 mark with the Blazers having outscored the Pens 25-24.  Their final regular season game will be played in Sackville Saturday Feb 4 at 3:00 p.m.
