Pictou 9 goal explosion over Jr. Eagles

Lane Lochead scored his 12h and 13th goals of the season while adding two assists to pace the Pictou County Scotians to a 9-4 rout of the Division Leading Eskasoni Jr. Eagles in Trenton Sunday evening.  John Kay Martin and Martin MacArthur also scored a pair of goals apiece with MacArthur also adding an assist.  Other Scotian goal scorers who held period leads of 4-1 and 7-3 were Nate Supryka with his 14th of the season, Chris Jordan and Owen Hickey.  Wyatt Spence collected four assists for the winners. Pictou outshot Eskasoni 39-33 in the win which pulls the second place Scotians to within four points of the Jr. Eagles in the race for first place in the Sid Rowe Division.  Eskasoni presently has a record of 9-5-0 for 18 points while the Scotians are 7-8-0 for 14 points.  Scoring for the Eagles were Owen Buckley with a pair, Dillon Arsenaut and Zander Billard.  The Eagles do hold two games in hand on the Scotians.  The teams have now collided three times in the 25-26 NSJHL Regular Season with the Scotians also winning 4-2 while the Eagles pulled out a 6-5 win.  Pictou has outscored Eskasoni in their three games 18-12.
