Colts and Lumberjacks both come up with critical wins

Colts and Lumberjacks both come up with critical wins
The South Shore Lumberjacks continued their amazing run to date in the 25-26 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey Regular season Saturday afternoon in Brookfield as they improved to 11-1-0 by defeating the Elks 5-2.  The Lumberjacks going into their game in Bridgewater Remembrance Day afternoon are at 11-1 for 22 points while the East Hants Penguins with a game in hand are at 11-1-1 for 23 points.  A win Tuesday afternoon would put the Lumberjacks in front of the Penguins for the first time this season.
 
Brandon Rideout and Nate Pearson both scored both scored power-play goals for the Lumberjacks in the opening period while the Elks were serving hooking and interference penalties.  In the second period, the Elks Cale McClellan and Bryson Currie tis he game at 2-2 after forty minutes.  The Lumberjacks could not be held down as they rifled hime three goals in the third period off the sticks of Brandon Rideout his second of the afternoon, Kyle MacIntyre and Elijah Riveria,  The South Shore outshot the Elks 34-25.  Elsewhere Saturday night:

The Colts improved to 9-3-0 for 18 point right behind the Penguins and Lumberjacks in the Fox Division after they slipped by Antigonosh 5-4.  Antigonish pulled in front 2-1 after twenty minutes on goals from Brody MacPherson and Tully Grant while Camden MacKenzie scored the first of his two on the night.
 
The  Colts showed more life in the second as MacAndrew scored his 2nd of he evening and Liam Andrews his first of the evening to go along with passer of assists.
 
Entering the third, the Bulldogs crawled back int the game and tied it at 4-4 on a goal from Gavin Clarke before the Colts Nolan Stevens and Cooper Puma scored on markers for the Colts to give them their 5-4 win. The Bulldogs with the loss fell to 6-4-1 and into third place in the Sid Rowe Division.  The Colts outshot the Bulldogs 35-33.  Antigonish hopes to move back into second place when they visit the Sackville Blazers Monday night in Sackville.
