The Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs rallied back after losing to the Strait Pirates Friday evening to defeat the first place Eskasoni Jr. Eagles 5-4 in Eskasoni Sunday evening.  The Jr. Bulldogs who climbed back into second place by a single point took a 5-1 lead after two periods and then hung on or dear life as the Jr. Eagles scored three unanswered goals in the third but could not score the equalizer.

Two power-play goals in the opening period by Luc Legere and Will McKinnon gave the visitors a 2-0 lead after one period and the Bulldogs then went up 4-0 on goals by Ryder Iatan and Kellen Fuller in the second.  Sam Gracie tallied for the Jr. Eagles to bring Eskasoni to within three goals but Will McKinnon’s second goal of the game made it 5-1 after forty minutes.  Eskasoni then came out steaming in the third scoring three unanswered goals by Dillon Arsenault and power-play goals from Rory Mills and Marcellus Francis but Eskasoni simply could not find the net for the tying fifth goal and ended up suffering their second loss of the season.  They are now 7-2-0, five points ahead of the Bulldogs at 4-2-1 and six points up on the Strait Pirates at 4-6-0 and Pictou at 4-6-0.
