Logjam for 2nd in Rowe....Sackville continues to struggle

Scotians now involved in three-way tie for 2nd place

 
The Scotians after starting the season 0-4-0, have now won three of their past 4 games to improve to 3-5-0 for six points and a tie for second place with Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury in the Sid Rowe Division.
 
Sunday evening in Pictou, the Scotians came out guns blazing and scored three times in the first period to take a 3-0 lead.  However, the Scotians then demonstrated some of there inconsistency to date this season as they failed to score anymore goals.  The Sackville Blazers scored twice in the second period but could not produce anymore and Pictou escaped with a 3-2 win.  The loss for the Blazers was there seventh consecutive after winning their opening game of the season.
 
The goaltending was superlative for Pictou as Eli James turned away 37 of 39 shots which he faced while Pictou took 40 on Sackville goalie Logan Wallace who turned away 37..  Scotian goals were scored by Porter McNamara and Lane Lochead who also each added an assist and Owen Hickey.  The second period goals for the Blazers were notched by James Cameron and Dawson LaPlante. The Scotians swing back into action Saturday, Oct 18th against the Jr. Miners in Cape Breton before returning home for a Sunday night home game against the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates. The Blazers visit Brookfield this Saturday before hosting the 5-0-0 South Shore Lumberjacks Monday Oct 20 at home in Sackville.
