East Hants still struggling.......Colts record 16th win in 19 games

East Hants Penguins Coach Laurie Isenor has to be pulling at the roots of his hair as after the Penguins got off to a superb start at 11-1-1, they have now lost six consecutive games.  The latest coming in Bridgewater Saturday night at the hands of the South Shore Lumberjacks by a score of 4-0.

 
The Penguins are now 11-7-1 and in third place in the Fred Fox Division, nine points behind the first place Capstone Colts and now five behind the second place Lumberjacks.
 
The Lumberjacks scored three times in the first period to take control and never looked back.  The goals coming from Cohen Westlake, Nolan Wilkie who also added an assist and Evan Amirault.  The teams then played scoreless hockey for 42 minutes before Lando Garber tallied with 4:06 remaining and making the final 4-0.  The Lumberjacks outshot the Penguins 27-25 and Keegan Greencorn continued his year-long stellar play for the Lumberjacks recording his first shut-out of the season.  He presently has a Goals Against Average of 2.77 and .921 save percentage while having stopped 466 of 506 shots he has faced this season.  The Lumberjacks swing back into action Monday night in Sackville at 7:30 p.m. against the 8-11-0 Sackville Blazers.  Elsewhere Saturday:

The Elks keeping coming so close but despite an attempted late comeback, lost to the Capstone Colts at home Saturday afternoon 5-3.  Cole McClellan who also added an assist put the Elks up 1-0 only 1:13 into the contest but Sackville then roared back scoring four unanswered goals to lead 4-1 after the opening period.  The goals coming from Adam Maillet, James Cameron, Xavier Rivard who also added an assist and in his first game with the Blazers after being claimed off the waiver wire Brady Burke.
 
Dawson LaPLante made it 5-1 Blazers who with the win closed to within two points of the fourth place Windsor Oxen in the Fox Division when he scored the lone goal of the second period.
 
Jackson Spraggon and Will Stewart both scored power-play goals in the third for the Elks who were outshot by Sackville 43-37.
