Blazers in unusual spot

The Sackville Blazers find themselves in a very unusual position in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
After so many NS Junior Championships and Don Johnson Memorial Cup wins, the Blazers at this point,1/5 of the way through the 25-26 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey Season, find themselves dead last in the Fred Fox Division with a record of 1-5-0.

The Blazers have been a consistent playoff team year after year but currently realize they must rebound quickly.

Their latest loss came at the hands of the East Hants Penguins Monday night in Sackville by a score of 6-3 as they were outshot by the Pens 43-28.

The Pens took period leads of 1-0 and 4-0 before being outscored by the Blazers 3-2 in the third period as East Hants won 6-3.

Noah Maccallum scored twice for East Hants in the first and third periods while Nick Xidos, Finley Diab, Chriss Caissie and Nick Morin who also added a couple of assists rounded out the Pens scoring,  Logan Mitchell, Tristan LeBlanc and Rhyland Skerry tallied for he Blazers.

Sackville is now 1-5 and the Pens 5-1.  The Penguins will host Pictou Thursday evening at 7:30 in Lantz before the Blazers play a pair this weekend.  Their first one will be against the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles currently at 6-1-0 at home starting at 6:00 p.m. Saturday night before travelling to Pictou for a 5:30 p.m. game against the Scotians Sunday evening.
