Lumberjacks rout Elks and Bulldogs do likewise against Jr. Miners

The South Shore Lumberjacks were scheduled to play two Nova Scotia Junior Hockey games this past weekend but unfortunately their Friday game in HRM against the Capstone Colts had to be postponed.  Saturday night at home in Bridgewater, the Lumberjacks got back to business as they improved to 4-0-0 in the 25-26 season as they barrelled past the 2-3-0 Brookfield Elks by a count of 8-1.  The South Shore took period leads of 3-1 and 7-1 before finishing with their eighth goal of the game in the third.

Leo MacLean and Brennan Coleman both scored twice for the Lumberjacks while each added an assist while single goals were registered by Marcus Tench, Owen McDermid, Landon Garber and Luke Crotty.  Will Cook assisted on three of the eight South Shore goals.  The Lumberjacks outshot the Elks 35-29 and will be back in action Saturday, Oct 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Bridgewater when they host the 1-0-2 Windsor Oxen.

Elsewhere Saturday night, the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs walloped the Jr. Miners by a 7-1 score.  The Jr. Bulldogs took period leads of 2-0 and 5-0 before settling for the 7-1 win.  Kevin Walker paced Antigonish with a pair of power-play goals in the second period while single markers were registered by Brett Connors, Owen Flemming, Owen Chisholm, Cameron Bell and Will Normandeau.  The Jr. Miners lone goal was scored by Kale McNeil.
