Scotians introduce new Bench Boss

Ryan MacLennan new Scotians Head Coach

 

MacLennan has been a member of the Scotians’ staff since the 2022/2023 season, originally serving as an Assistant Coach for two and a half seasons and began his new role as Associate Coach over this past summer.

MacLennan joined the Scotians as a player back during the 2019/2020 season after a season with the Weeks Jr. A Crushers and was named an assistant captain during that year.

 

For his final two seasons as a player with the Scotians, he was named as the team’s captain.

Prior to joining the Scotians staff as a coach, Ryan had spent time as a Development Coach for the Weeks U18 Majors during their Atlantic Championship run during the 2022-2023 season. 

 

MacLennan continues working with the Weeks Majors program in a behind the scenes setting.

 

Ryan  has deep local roots within the Pictou County hockey community and brings a strong knowledge of the game along with a passion for developing players both on and off the ice. His leadership, commitment, and connection with the team have been evident throughout his time with the organization, and the Scotians are excited to see him step into this new role.
