NSJHL Launches “Crown the Town” — A New Way for Fans to Show Their Loyalty and Debate the Best of the League

The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League is turning up the heat on fan engagement with an exciting new digital feature called “Crown the Town.” Starting this season, fans across the province will have a direct say in crowning their favourites — from the best arena atmosphere to the tastiest rink fries.

What is Crown the Town?
It’s a fan-driven poll platform that pits NSJHL teams head-to-head in a bracket-style showdown across fun and spirited categories such as:

  • Best Arena

  • Best Rink Fries

  • Best Jerseys

  • Best Logos

And many more.

How It Works

Fans can vote online as teams go up against each other in a round robin playoff format. Each matchup will last just under two days, with the entire tournament wrapping up in about 10 days. As votes pour in, teams advance to the next round until one emerges victorious — earning bragging rights and, of course, the coveted “Crown the Town” title in each category.

Why This Matters

“Crown the Town gives fans a fun and interactive way to connect with their teams beyond the scoreboard,” said league president Gerard MacDonald. “It’s about community pride, friendly rivalry, and celebrating what makes each town’s hockey experience unique.”

From the crunch of skates on fresh ice to the sizzle of rink fries at intermission, NSJHL hockey is as much about atmosphere and local flavour as it is about goals and assists. Now, fans get to debate and decide what makes their team stand out.

Get Ready to Vote!

The fun will start mid-July, so keep an eye out for the excitement and matchups coming soon on the NSJHL website and social channels. Who will claim the best jerseys? Which town boasts the tastiest rink fries? It’s up to the fans to decide.

One thing’s for sure — no matter who takes home the crown, the competition will be fierce and the pride will run deep.
