Andrews and Brace lead the Colts
The Sackville Blazers were trailing only 1-0 through two periods Monday night but the roof collapsed on them in the third period as the Capstone Colts evened their Best-of-Seven Fox Divisional Semi-Final at 1-1.
The Colts scored three times in three minutes beginning with 16:39 left in regulation and went on from there to shut-out the Blazers 6-0 in Sackville. Jack Dulong, Cody Garcin and Luke McPhee gave the Colts their 4-0 lead after Liam Andrews had scored to open the scoring for the Colts in the first period. Andrews with his second of the game and Finn Merritt completed the scoring for the Colts who bombarded the Blazers net with 58 shots. Conar Brace earned the shut-out for the Colts stopping all 34 shots he faced. Connor Stewart and Copper Puma collected a pair of assists each for the Colts while Andrews added an assist to go along with his two goals.
The third game of this series goes Friday night in Shearwater and returns to Sackville Monday night at 7:30 p.m. for Game 4.
