Puma and Spence named Players of the week
Puma and Spence named NS Egg Farmers Players of the Week (Dec 6-15)
Cooper Puma of the Capstone Colts and Wyatt Spence of the Pictou County Scotians have been the NS Egg Farmers Players of the week for games played between Dec 6-15. The first two weeks of December were combined due to the winding down of the schedule for the Christmas Break and the limited number of breaks.
Fred Fox Division:
1. Cooper Puma - was named for his 5 point effort in the Colts three games leading into the Christmas break which saw the Colts score two huge wins over he first place East Hants Penguins while suffering an 8-6 loss in Sackville to the Blazers in which the Colts led 6-4 after the first period. He earns two Dozen Eggs from Nova Scotia Egg Farmers for his performance.
2. John Shubaly — He finished second for the week in recording 5 points in two exceptionally important wins for the Lumberjacks over the Valley Maple Leafs and the Brookfield Elks. He had a goal and two assists in a 3-0 win in Windsor for the South Shore and the following afternoon in Brookfield on Sat Dec 7th, he recorded one goal and three assists in a 5-4 overtime win over the Elks.
3. Conar Brace - Despite Christmas Exams interfering with one game, he was his usual self stopping 67 of 72 shots in the two wins over the Penguins.
Sid Rowe Division:
1. Wyatt Spence has been named player of the week covering the 9 day period mentioned above. He scored two goals and added three assists in two huge wins for the Scotians over Membertou and Eskasoni, solidifying the Scotians grip on second place in the Sid Rowe Division.
2. Lane Lochead — also of the Scotians had a four point effort in the two games and narrowly missed out on putting his egg total to 11 dozen. Lochead recorded two goals and two assists in the pair of wins and continues to be an influential cog in the Scotians line-up entering 2025.
3. Owen Juurlink — He scored twice and added two assists as the Bulldogs mauled Membertou 10-1.
