Bulldogs continue scoring spree
The Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs notched their scoring into maximum super-drive over the weekend as after scoring eight goals in their 8-0 whitewashing of Pictou Friday night, they were hungrier than ever Saturday night when they demoralized the Membertou Jr. Miners 9-1 in Membertou. Zachary Lorette scored twice and added two assists for the Bulldogs in a game which saw only two minor penalties called the entire sixty minutes. Will Normandeau and Tully Grant also scored a pair of goals each for Antigonish who outshot the Jr. Miners 43-27 and held period leads of 4-0 and 9-0. Other Bulldog goals were notched by Max Baldwin, Will McKinnon and Matthew Bercovici. Jarred Hicks scored the only goal of the third period and the only goal for the Jr. Miners. Ryan MacDonald stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Bulldog nets while Daniel MacGillivary allowed five goals for the Jr. Miners before Lucas Fraser replaced him and allowed the final four. The Bulldogs improved their record on the season to 16-3-0.
