Jr. Bulldogs now 7-0-0

The Antigonish AA Munro Jr. Bulldogs are smoking hot right now as they defeated the Cumberland County Blues at home 5-1 Sunday night Oct 24.  Fearghus MacDonald kept his scoring prowess alive and well garnering 4 assists and now leads the League in scoring with 5 goals and 13 assists for 18 points.  Sam Mattie of the Bulldogs leads the league in goals with 9 to go along with 5 assists after his 3 goal and one assist performance in their win over the Blues.  The Jr. Bulldogs led 5-0 after forty minutes and Ezekiel Cormier’s goal prevented the shut-out from happening with 1:52 to play in regulation.  Sam Grant and Jake MacDonald were the other Bulldog scorers.  The win now leaves the Jr. Bulldogs with a 7-0-0 record.  Antigonish is now idle until Nov 7th when they host the Sackville Blazers before going on the road Remembrance Day afternoon for a contest with Liverpool before returning home Friday Nov 12 to play the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles.  Antigonish outshot the Blues who were coming off a surprise 2-1 overtime win over Sackville Friday night 39-19.

Friday, Oct 22 at CFB Shearwater, the Jr. Bulldogs won their 6th of the season 5-3 over the Capstone Colts.  Sam Mattie scored a pair in this game while Luke Baldwin, Ethan Twolan and Fearghus MacDonald added singles.  MacDonald also had a couple of helpers.  Tyler Puma scored twice for the Colts and Benjamin Veinot added a single marker.  The Bulldogs outshot the Colts 47-34.
