It all started on Sept 12/25 and Thursday night in Eskasoni, the 165 Game Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League’s Regular Season concluded in dramatic fashion with the Antigonish Jr. Bulldogs taking first place in the Sid Rowe Division out of the hands of the Eskasoni Jr. Eagles with a 4-2 win.

Eskasoni who led the division for the majority of the season changing places with Pictou for a few days in mid-season, only to see the Jr. Bulldogs come on strong and finish first for a fifth consecutive season.

Antigonish despite being outshot 41-30 completed their season with a record of 21-8-1 for 43 points while the Jr. Eagles finished at 20-10-0 for 40 points.  The Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead after the opening frame on goals from Owen Juurlink, Brody MacPherson and Ray MacKinnon and went up 4-1 after two periods on a goal from Owen Forsythe.   Dillion Arsenault and Kendrick Marshall replied for Eskasoni.  Daniel Chiasson recorded a pair of assists for the Bulldogs while Ethan Chisholm played a solid game in nets turing away 39 of the 41 shots he faced.

By finishing first and second, the Bulldogs and Eagles and third place Pictou have all earned a little rest and a first round bye in the opening round of the playoffs while they await for a verdict in the Best-of-Five Preliminary Series between the Jr. Miners and Port Hawkesbury.
