MacDonald, Woolaver, and Hunter Continue Leadership Roles as NSJHL Charts Course for 2025–26 Season

The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League (NSJHL) enters a new chapter with familiar leadership at the helm following its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Gerard MacDonald was re-elected as league president by acclamation, beginning his second consecutive term. MacDonald, who spearheaded several key modernization efforts over the past season, will continue guiding the league's vision for growth, transparency, and competitive excellence.

Also returning is Andy Woolaver, who was re-elected as Vice President, Director of Discipline and Safety. Woolaver, a respected voice in player welfare and league governance, will enter his second term alongside MacDonald.

David Hunter will continue in his role as Vice President, Director of Hockey Operations. Having already completed the first year of his two-year term, Hunter is tasked with overseeing league operations and working closely with teams on competitive integrity.

The AGM served as an important moment of continuity and commitment to player development, safety, and league operations.

Notably, Allan Fraser—an institution within the NSJHL community—will be entering his 37th season as league statistician. Fraser’s decades-long service has been critical in maintaining the league’s historical records and analytics, helping tell the story of junior hockey across Nova Scotia.

“Keeping this core leadership group intact gives us the stability and consistency we need as we continue to build momentum,” MacDonald said after the meeting. “There’s a lot of pride in where we’re going as a league, and I’m honored to help lead the way.”
